INTRODUCTION

The 6,000m² Ellesmere Port Sports Leisure Village is a regeneration project for Cheshire West and Chester Council within the Ellesmere Port area, built on the former school site. Solinear were engaged early in the design process and worked with Wates Construction and project architect, Ellis Williams Architect, to create a stunning feature façade. Solinear won the job on product, design capability and cost.
TASK
The Initial design challenge was to ensure the structure was suitable for the installation of Solinear’s Medera Timber. Solinear had to then design, manufacture, deliver and install the large-scale feature façade.
ACTION
Solinear developed scheme and structural support to enable design of primary and secondary steelwork support structures, which accommodated the system with first fix installation of brackets to steelwork and thereafter, a second fix of railings and then Medera timber fins.
RESULT
Solinear installed over 4,500 linear meters to complete the project on time and within budget to produce nothing less than a stunning façade feature.
