Introduction
Project: Redbourne Upper School
Client: Savoy Construction Architect: Woods Hardwick
Products: Halo Medera 190*40 Western Red Cedar High-Grade No2 Fin Systems
Solinear was chosen as the leading subcontractor for design, supply and installation of a bespoke, contemporary timber solar shading solution on the new extension at Redbourne Upper School.

Task
Solinear were appointed by Savoy and they worked alongside architect, Woods Hardwick. The Brief was to develop an attractive façade arrangement of horizontal Medera fins that not only provide sufficient solar coverage at peak summer periods but also allow sufficient light passage into the rooms during the cooler months.
Action
Solinear used their Medera DR system to provide a floating effect of the Medera timber solar shading fins along the sloping roof edge, removing the need for unsightly brackets.

Result
Solinear installed over 480 linear meters of their Halo Medera 190*40 Western Red Cedar High Grade No2 Fin product. The feature boasts a striking look while mitigating solar heat gain.
