The McLaren Production Centre is a sleek and technically sophisticated supercar manufacturing facility used to produce their high-performance McLaren 12C. The building comprises a12,000m2 basement and a 20,000m2 ground floor featuring large open spaces with minimal columns.
This prestigious project was awarded to Solinear following a long design and tender process due to the high specification requirements for the bespoke tubular facade.
Task
Solinear had to work closely with Sir Robert McAlpine, Hathaway Roofing and world-renowned architects, Fosters + Partners, to bring their design to life with a practical, yet aesthetically stunning product to match the brand and vision of McLaren.
Action
Solinear developed a completely bespoke product specifically for this project featuring secret fix detailing and curving of the product with tight tolerance and anodised finish. A huge level of care was needed when curving and fabricating the product to ensure the surfaces remained defect-free and suitable for the finish.
The Result
Over 1240m2 of VERSATIL™ louvre profile was designed, manufactured and installed by Solinear with exacting standards of workmanship. The finished product really speaks for its self.
