Introduction
Project: The Christie Proton Beam Therapy Centre, Manchester Client: Interserve Construction Architect: HKS Architects Limited, London Project cost: £200K Products: AQUARIOUS™ / SOUNDEX™
The Christie Proton Beam Therapy Centre in Manchester is the country’s largest of its kind. It’s one of a handful of specialist care centres in the world using proton therapy to help treat people with cancer.

Task
Solinear were asked to design a system that cancelled noise coming out of the roof-top plant room while letting in very important airflow to the high-tech equipment inside.
Working with Interserve, Solinear provided detailed design and interfacing for the building structure to ensure compliance with architect’s design intent.
Action
Solinear designed, manufactured, supplied and installed their AQUARIOUS™ AQ100 and AQ50CH2 architectural louvres, together with their SOUNDEX™ L300G/L150G acoustic louvres and all associated secondary support steelwork.

The Result
Working within a very tight site, at a high level, and with more moving parts than normal, Solinear successfully installed over 350m2 of their own products. The project was completed on time and within budget.
