Solinear were chosen & specified by Miller Bourne Architects to develop a design using the Halo Inline 200 curved solar shading system on the new science block and 6th Form centre at Walthamstow Hall School in Sevenoaks, Kent. Solinear were asked to complete the project due to successful deliveries on previous projects.
TASK
The idea was to create a stunning but functional solar shading façade to the building. Solinear used 3D modelling to accurately design the curved system to interface with the various façade elements and successfully deliver a conceptual design for BBS Construction.
ACTION
To achieve the HALO 200 INLINE CURVED SYSTEM Solinear started with soft grate metal. Throughout the tooling process, they managed to form and harden the metal to the exact geometry needed.
With access issues and tight deadlines, Solinear deployed a constant on-site Site Manager to ensure smooth operation and handover.
RESULT
Solinear installed over 350 linear meters of their HALO 200 INLINE CURVED product. The feature has striking looks and mitigates solar heat gain to the fully-glazed staircase.
