Work continues to pour into the Solinear office and we were in urgent need of another designer!
John came highly recommended to us by another member of the Solinear team and is from a very skilled and professional kitchen design background with three years of 2D design and CAD programming experience designing marble and granite kitchen worktops – skills and experiences that are transferable to our product design processes. He is learning quickly, under the watchful eye of Andy Moore (Design Manager) and is quick to understand the processes involved that make the Solinear brand one to be admired and trusted.
Prior to becoming a kitchen worktop planner, John, indulged his passion – cars, working as a panel beater and mechanic.
Keen to learn, develop new skills and succeed; John left school with 15 GCSEs, grade A* – C. At college he achieved an Advanced BTEC Diploma in Mechanical Engineering – D*D* (Equiv. of 2x A*) and Extended BTEC Diploma in Mechanical Engineering – D*D* (Equiv. of 3x A*). He then went on to university, accomplishing a Higher Education Certificate in Motorsport Technology (BSc) – Achieved. After university, John continued his studies and went on to gain a distinction in Vehicle Crash Repair Levels 1, 2 and 3 as well as a British Standards Welding Certificate – Achieved.
Presently, John, is building his own race car, however, when asked to write about himself he claimed that he isn’t ‘that exciting’! We beg to differ. He also enjoys seeing his friends, buying new clothes and shoes and looking after his tropical fish.
John is fitting in well with the team, although, as avid tea and coffee drinkers at Solinear HQ, we’re struggling with the concept that he doesn’t like hot drinks!
Remember Claudia, our new Project Administrator from the Summer newsletter? Well, she doesn’t like hot drinks either! It begs the crucial question – what do they dunk their biscuits in?
Anyway, apart from the whole beverage situation, Claudia has certainly made an impact and we feel that John will follow suit very soon.
