How early Should we involve you in the design process
Ideally, we like to be involved at RIBA Stages 2–3, when façade concepts and plant strategies are being developed. Early engagement allows us to advise on louvre and shading configurations, free area requirements, acoustic performance, fixing strategies and interface details before the geometry is fully locked in. This avoids compromises later, reduces the risk of coordination issues on site and often results in more elegant, cost-effective solutions. However, we can also support later-stage design and retrofit projects where constraints are already defined.
Solinear can offer the most value to a prospective project, when involved at RIBA Stages 2-3, when façade concepts and plant strategies are being developed. Early engagement allows us to advise on louvre and shading configurations, free area requirements, acoustic performance, fixing strategies and interface details before geometry is fully locked in. Specifically, Solinear can advise on the capabilities of our own systems and draw on our many years of experience. Oftentimes we can provide solutions to challenges raised, as we have overcome these previously on other projects. We are also often able to provide value engineered solutions, where multiple different elements of a proposed system or configuration may be combined. All of this aims to avoid compromise, reduces the risk of coordination issues on site and often results in more elegant, aesthetically pleasing and cost-effective solutions. None of this, however, prevents Solinear from supporting at a later stage of design and to retrofit projects where constraints are already defined.
Solinear can offer the most value when we become involved at RIBA Stages 2–3, when façade concepts and plant strategies are being developed. Early engagement allows us to advise on architectural louvre systems, solar shading configurations, free area requirements, acoustic performance, fixing strategies, and key interface details before the building geometry is locked in.
At this stage, we can provide guidance on the capabilities of our own systems and draw on many years of experience delivering bespoke louvre, brise soleil, and acoustic solutions. This often enables us to solve design challenges early, propose value-engineered options, and combine multiple elements into a coordinated, efficient system. By involving Solinear early, design teams can reduce the risk of on-site coordination issues and achieve more elegant, aesthetically cohesive, and cost-effective outcomes. However, we can also support projects at later design stages and retrofit applications where constraints are already defined.
