What are Acoustic louvres?
An acoustic louvre is a specially designed ventilation louvre that incorporates sound-absorbing linings within each blade. This allows airflow to and from noisy plant areas while significantly reducing sound transmission to the outside environment or adjacent spaces. Acoustic louvres are commonly used around generators, chillers, AHUs and industrial equipment where planning conditions or neighbour amenity require strict noise control. Our acoustic louvre systems are engineered to provide a balance between airflow performance, acoustic attenuation, weather resistance and architectural appearance.

Acoustic louvre systems are commonly used around generators, chillers, air handling units (AHUs), heat pumps, and other mechanical or industrial equipment where planning requirements or neighbour amenity demand strict noise control.
Solinear’s SoundEx acoustic louvre range is available in both panellised and continuous-line configurations. Each system is engineered to achieve a balance between airflow performance, acoustic attenuation, and weather resistance—while maintaining a high-quality architectural appearance that complements the surrounding façade.
