If Halloween wasn’t scary enough, we thought we’d share this spine-chilling photo with you! This is a snap that one of the Solinear team took whilst on a site visit to Selly Oak Shopping Park. Whilst we are understandably proud of this spectacular Siberian larch wave form elevation in Selly Oak car park, it’s the strange yellow haze to the left of the photo that has really caught our attention. It seems to be drifting through our timber screen – perhaps pausing to admire Solinear’s level of creativity and expertise before continuing?
To quote the lyrics of a well-known ‘80s film soundtrack “If there’s something strange in your neighbourhood…who ya gonna call…?!” Not Solinear! Nope. No way. No thank you. We can keep the sun at bay but not spooks and our fitters don’t even flinch at the prospect of being held aloft 40 metres in the air but coming face to face with ghosts and ghouls and you’re on your own!
Using formulaic horror films as a frame of reference – whereby a disgruntled uprooted spirit causes chaos as a modern structure has been erected on an ancient burial ground – could it be the apparition of an 8000BC resident of Birmingham or an invading Roman soldier supervising the activities of the Solinear team?! Or it may just be dust traversing the screen in a gust of wind!
Hoping it’s the former, rather than the dull prospect of the latter, we are confident that our work meets with the entity’s approval, after all the Solinear team is rather proud of their work at Selly Oak. The car park screen was designed incorporating an impressive wave formation constructed using the Solinear vertical Medera brise soleil system in Siberian Larch (FSC Certified) finished in New Age Med Grey.
If you’re in the Selly Oak area, then it really is worth taking a good look at our impressive brise soleil shading and screening; The result of Solinear’s dedicated work and meticulous attention to detail. Case study coming shortly but, in the meantime, please view our other projects at: https://www.solinear.co.uk/case-study/
Happy Halloween!
