This time last year Solinear was thrilled to announce that it had won a much coveted Construction & Engineering Award from the hugely popular BUILD Magazine and was recognised as one of the country’s leading Architectural Solar Shading Engineers, flying the flag for businesses in the north and particularly Yorkshire!
Solinear’s iconic Majestic project in Leeds amazed judges, standing out as one of the most impressive architectural and louvre shading projects of 2020/21 and quite rightly so. The Solinear team designed and manufactured an incredible bespoke curved RHS aluminium Solex system finished in a stunning deep, warm bronze colour – understated and sympathetic to the classical façade of this magnificent building.
With some outstanding projects due for completion soon plus many having been completed over the past few months – including Battersea Power Station and First Light Pavilion at Jodrell Bank – and the team demonstrating incredible resourcefulness and innovation, it’s expected that Solinear will be in line for some more accolades next year.
Circling back to this year, Solinear is delighted to announce that the team has been shortlisted for not just one, but two esteemed National Building and Construction awards – Specialist Contractor of the Year and Sub-Contractor of the Year.
The prestigious awards ceremony takes place on Thursday 17th November at the Hilton London, Wembley.
In addition to the honour of being selected for two NBCA’s, it was a pleasant surprise to also be shortlisted for a Northern Enterprise Award – highlighting Solinear’s prominence as a leading manufacturer of quality architectural facades and louvres and the cost-efficient solutions available throughout the Solinear range.

Tom was raised with the family business and has 20 years’ experience in the sector, working in every facet of the business including fabrication, installation, design, project management, to now fulfilling his role as Managing Director of Solinear. Outside of work, Tom prioritises time with his family, enjoying gardening, keeping fit and travelling as much as possible. He’s still a die-hard Ravens fan!
