Solinear certainly had a good start to 2023 and the successes and achievements have continued throughout the year.
Projects
2023 has presented some remarkable projects showcasing how skilled the Solinear team is.
For example, Loughborough Sport Park. The enormous framework for the project, which would support the perforated screening panels, was manufactured in the Solinear factory, then transported to site and installed. The framework alone was impressive enough but with the addition of the bespoke silver-grey perforated panels, the whole facade looked spectacular and will serve a practical purpose too – safeguarding the privacy of occupants and shielding them and the interior space from harmful solar glare.
Solinear installed an impressive louvre system to the exterior of the car park at Lidl headquarters, Tolworth. The bespoke ‘Lidl House’ has been built with numerous innovations to reduce its environmental impact including the UK’s largest number of electric car charging points in one location and solar panels on the carpark providing 300kW of energy per hour. It’s a remarkable project both in scale and technology and Solinear was proud to be part of it.
In 2022 the largest logistics real estate developer in the UK and Europe, Panattoni, agreed a relocation deal with Marley, a UK leader in the manufacture and supply of pitched roof systems to the construction market. The deal involved Panattoni securing a prime site from Marley with the latter relocating to the 9,945sq ft design-and-build facility at Panattoni Park Aylesford. The new facility would be used for storage and distribution. Solinear was tasked with installing Solex Halo 150 louvres above the glazed areas of the building. The project has now been completed and looks incredibly smart with the bespoke Solinear louvres finished in black to match the façade of the building.
There will be more projects to showcase in 2024 and, as usual the Solinear site team will be taking some awesome shots of their phenomenal work. They have immense pride in their job, and it really is a testament to their skill, expertise and attention to detail that the photographs of the finished projects are appreciated by thousands of social media users across the globe as well as visitors to the Solinear website, many of whom are inspired to contact us enquiring about our products and services highlighting specific photographs and case studies that caught their attention.

Award winning team
Already the recipient of a BUILD Construction & Engineering Award, we’re proud to have been bestowed yet another award.
Solinear once again was the delighted recipient of one of the building industry’s most prestigious awards. The judging panel for the National Building and Construction Awards was so impressed with Solinear’s work on Battersea Power Station that we were presented with a Project of the Year award.
We’re looking forward to more awards in 2024.
Wigginton Grasshopppers U8 football team
Wigginton Grasshoppers Football Club has been at the heart of the local community in York since the early 1980s and is committed to providing children and adults with a safe, enjoyable and nurturing environment to develop their footballing education.
Football clubs like Wigginton Grasshopppers are vital for local communities, bringing people together to take part in sport and maintain a healthy lifestyle, form friendships and potentially nurture the sporting stars of the future.
With this in mind, Solinear is delighted to announce that we are sponsoring the Wigginton Grasshoppers U8 girls’ team. We have it on good authority that the girls are thrilled and are hugely excited about their newly branded sport’s kit.
Girls Junior Secretary, Lauren, contacted us to let us know that “… they were absolutely thrilled with how smart they looked, and they really do think they’re the bee’s knees now…
Again, a massive thank you for being the girls’ sponsor. It means an awful lot to us as coaches but even more to them!”
We look forward to following their progress but most all seeing their enjoyment of playing football.
Celebrating 20 years of Solinear!
Next year Solinear will no longer be a teenager as it celebrates its 20th birthday. We’re looking forward to cake!
Solinear is ready for a break
Whether you love it or hate it, Christmas is upon us and the Solinear team enjoyed a very entertaining Christmas party which involved food, drink and chat…and axe throwing (not necessarily in that order) at The Hilt, York! Whilst some approached axe throwing with some initial trepidation, others immediately embraced it and what became clear was that whilst we work well as a whole, once divided and playing against each other, we’re hugely competitive. We certainly took axe throwing very seriously…some perhaps too seriously and are now contemplating a change of career and a future with the circus.
After another very busy year, we’re now ready for a well-earnt break.
The office will be closed from 4pm on Wednesday 20th December 2023 and will re-open at 8am on Wednesday 3rd January 2024. Upon return we’ll be refreshed, and if 2023 is any indication of the year ahead, we’ll be prepared for a very busy 2024, so we’re all looking forward to hearing from our faithful and loyal customers as well as new contacts that we hope will develop into great working relationships.
We understand that many are facing difficulties at the moment, and we would like to wish everyone kindness and compassion over the festive season – and beyond – and a 2024 of health, happiness and wellbeing.
