After the cloud of uncertainty 2016 cast across the UK, with financial instability, political upheaval, terror attacks and fears for the future of businesses across the UK, the dust has finally settled and we’re able to see clearly just how many positives were shining through the doom and gloom of 2016, was it perhaps unfair of the media to label 2016 the worst year in history?
Team GB had their most successful summer Olympics to date with an impressive 27 gold medals, finishing 2nd on the medal table. Queen Elizabeth celebrated her 90th birthday with royal abandon and giant pandas were finally removed from the ‘endangered’ list. The construction industry also had its fair share of success in 2016 with Brighton now home to the tallest observatory deck in the world (the viewing pod being 10 times the size of the London Eye) and the successful implementation of the UK government BIM level 2 mandate.
Some of our valued clients shared in the successes of 2016, winning several of the most coveted construction awards on offer:
BIM Excellence Award 2016 – Interserve
Diversity Champions of 2016 – Skanska
Sustainable Company of 2016 – Willmott Dixon
