SUNSAILS for University of Cambridge

Fabric SUNSAILS were designed and installed by Solinear on the South East elevation of the CEB building for University of Cambridge.

Fitted between stainless steel tension cables and mid-span support framework to ensure no moment loading was applied to the curtain walling system. The Mallasol™ Sunsails were developed using Autodesk Inventor 3D modelling software, to enable the true flat-pattern fabric geometry to be established and create the feature ‘BOW-TWIST’ along the major axis spine of the fabric.

Position: Managing Director

Tom was raised with the family business and has 20 years’ experience in the sector, working in every facet of the business including fabrication, installation, design, project management, to now fulfilling his role as Managing Director of Solinear. Outside of work, Tom prioritises time with his family, enjoying gardening, keeping fit and travelling as much as possible. He’s still a die-hard Ravens fan!
